The Built Heritage Investment Scheme Historic Thatched Buildings Stream 2027 is now open for applications.
Historic thatched buildings are an important part of our historic built environment. So too are the skills necessary to keep them in good repair. The Built Heritage Investment Scheme Historic Thatched Buildings Stream (HTB) is administered by the local authorities and, via grants up to €20,000, is designed to assist custodians and owners of historic thatched buildings maintain them while keeping the unique traditional skills of craftspeople and tradespeople across Ireland alive.
Those intending to apply for grant funding under the HTB should contact their local Architectural Conservation Officer for advice and assistance or their local Heritage Officer if their local authority does not employ and Architectural Conservation Officer.
The HTB 2027 is open for applications until Friday 30th October 2026. Full details, including application forms, may be found below:
