Historic Structures Fund 2027
The Historic Structures Fund 2027 is now open for applications. The Historic Structures Fund (HSF), funded by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage through the National Built Heritage Service (NBHS), is designed to support custodians and owners of protected structures maintain those protected structures now and for future generations. It is also designed to help develop and preserve traditional building skills.
The HSF is administered by the local authorities and, via grants ranging from €50,000 to €200,000, will assist custodians and owners of historic structures safeguard them for the future benefit of communities and the general public. The property in question must be included or eligible for inclusion on the Record of Protected Structures maintained by the relevant local authority to qualify for the scheme. Priority will be given to works to conserve and consolidate the external envelope of the historic structure such as roof, brick work, stone work or window repairs. The project should have strong built heritage conservation objectives and demonstrate a clear benefit to the community or the general public.
Those intending to apply for grant funding under the HSF should contact their local Architectural Conservation Officer for advice and assistance or their local Heritage Officer if their local authority does not employ and Architectural Conservation Officer.
