Corderry House, Rathcassan, Knockbridge, LH

Description

Interesting sizeable demesne for early 19th century house. Originally largely composed of parkland, surrounded by shelter belts and containing large clumps of trees and bisected by a through-driveway. By mid 19th century, east half dotted with individual trees, all largely gone by mid 20th century. Shelter belts remain. Internally now intensively farmed and fruit farm. (1836 OS map shows a classic "Brownian" landscape.)
