Description
Walled garden, extant 1837, on a rectangular plan with repointed boundary wall to perimeter having creeper- or ivy-covered rendered red brick header bond coping; red brick irregular bond surface finish to courtyard elevation. Restored, 2000. Set in landscaped grounds shared with Marlay House.
Appraisal
A walled garden not only contributing positively to the group and setting values of the Marlay House estate, but also clearly illustrating the continued development or "improvement" of the estate at the turn of the nineteenth century (Archer 1801, 16).
