Snecked cut limestone boundary wall, erected c.1730, as part of Royal Hospital Infirmary. Rubble limestone coping, dressed granite coping to west. Pair of square-profile tooled limestone piers flanking double-leaf timber battened gate. Opening to west, having red brick surrounds, now blocked.
This wall served an important function in enclosing the grounds of the Royal Hospital Infirmary and remains as a reminder of the status and imposing nature of this building. Skill and craftsmanship is evident in its construction, particularly in the execution of granite coping to the west.
