Attached six-bay two-storey store, built c.1800, now disused. Pitched slate roof, red brick chimneystacks and render coping. Snecked dressed calp limestone walls, cast-iron rainwater goods and red brick quoins. Square-headed window openings, red brick surrounds, granite sills and remains of timber framed windows.
This building was part of a flour mill run by of Messrs Manders and was the property of Dublin Corporation, like its adjacent muslin printing factory, which had been in place since 1786. The entire complex was acquired by John Randal Plunkett c.1895 as a new premises for his maltings, which supplied malt to the Guinness brewery. Although this building is now derelict, it retains much of its original character. Its form and scale typical of warehouses or stores built to accompany industrial premises. It is one of a number of industrial buildings in the immediate locality, which formed part of the of Bellevue Maltings, and is a reminder of the long-standing industrial legacy of Islandbridge. It makes a strong visual impact on the area.
