Single-arch skew bridge, built c.1820, carrying road over River Bunnoe. Segmental arch, with rock-faced rusticated sandstone voussoirs, and gunnelled soffit. Dressed stone abutments, splayed outwards to ends of walls. Ends of parapet walls curve outwards to meet ends of abutments. Roughly coursed rubble stone to spandrel and parapet walls, dressed stone copings to parapets.
This bridge fulfills an important function in carrying the road over the River Bunnoe and represents the development of the road network in the early nineteenth century, as well as the technological advancements which allowed this bridge to be built on a skew. Although it is not clearly visible from the road, it is elegant and well executed, with excellent detailing and its arch articulated by rock-faced rusticated stone voussoirs and flanked by curved parapet walls.
