Appraisal

This solidly constructed, engagingly simple, bridge, fulfils an important function in carrying the road over the River Bunnoe. It is representative of the development of the road network in Ireland throughout the early nineteenth century. Although it is not widely visible, its elegant arch is enlivened by dressed stone, which is testament to the skill and craftsmanship of stone-workers at the time of its erection.
