Appraisal

Despite its derelict condition, a high quality of construction is clearly evident in this handsome house. The bow to the front enhances the formality of the façade, highlighting its perfect symmetry and furthering the sense of classical elegance embodied by this building. Detailing such as tooled stone doorcase, sills, and coping to plinth course, as well as timber sliding sash windows and eaves supports, hint at the erstwhile architectural quality of the site. The associated outbuildings to the rear add context and highlight the original importance of this house.
