Appraisal

This series of structures formed the first watermill built on the Inishkeen corn and flax mill site. It is now neglected yet retains much of its original character and is typical of nineteenth-century mill architecture. The combination of sections built in the early part of the century with the later alterations allows this structure to represent the changes and expansions seen at many such complexes. It also has a social significance for the village of Inishkeen, representing as it does the primary industry associated with the place throughout the nineteenth century.
