Appraisal

This funeral monument is of a most unusual construction. While not particularly well constructed it is notable for its ornate appearance. The moulded slatework is accomplished, and the funerary urn is evocative of death. The contrast between the purple slate, the stone urn and the marble plaque adds textural and colour distinction.
