Limestone railway bridge over Newbliss to Monaghan road and over stream, built c.1850. Roughly-hewn limestone blocks built to courses, with neat pointing. Segmental arch to road and round to stream, with roughly dressed stone walling and soffits, rock-faced voussoirs, sloping buttresses to outer edges of elevations, and low parapets, each with rock-cut string course to base.
This railway bridge formerly carried the Dundalk to Derry railway over the Newbliss to Monaghan road. It is of well constructed limestone masonry and its elevations are distinguished by the wide segmental road arch and the smaller and lower arch to the stream. The structure makes a strong impression on the approach to Newbliss from Monaghan.
