Three-bay two-storey house, built c.1880, with recessed central bay to front, three-bay return to rear, and recent single-storey glazed timber porch to front entrance. Pitched slate roof, with yellow brick chimneystacks, stone eaves course and decorative timber bargeboards with timber finials. Dressed limestone walls built to courses with tuck and flush pointing, and cut-stone quoins, roughcast rendered walls to north and east elevations. Square-headed window openings with two-over-two pane sliding timber sash windows with cut-stone surrounds and sills. Square-headed door openings with timber doors. Double-leaf wrought-iron gate to road entrance attached to fluted cast-iron piers flanked by wrought-iron railings over cut-stone plinths with chamfered stone copings.
The relatively plain form of this house is enlivened by the slightly recessed entrance bay and by yellow brick chimneystacks. It displays good quality masonry and is enhanced by the retention of timber sash windows. Its gateway to the road provides a fitting introduction to the building.
