Single-arch limestone bridge, built c.1855, carrying disused Portadown to Cavan railway line over Mountain Water River. Round arch with rock-faced voussoirs and red brick soffit, curving sloping limestone wing walls and sloping buttresses to both elevations. Roughly hewn limestone blocks built to courses. Chamfered cut-stone imposts, and with chamfered cut-stone string course above arch and to parapet copings.
This well constructed bridge demonstrates good quality masonry typical of railway construction in the latter half of the nineteenth century. It is part of a fine group of similar bridges and is enhanced by its skew form and by its various masonry details.
