Single-arch limestone railway bridge, built c.1855, carrying disused Monaghan to Armagh railway line over Mountain Water River. Round arch with rock-faced voussoirs and red brick soffit, curving sloping limestone wing walls and sloping buttresses to both elevations. Roughly hewn limestone blocks built to courses. Chamfered cut-stone imposts, chamfered cut-stone string course above arch, to parapets and to copings of wing walls.
This bridge, taking the railway over a river, is part of a fine, well constructed group of similar bridges at Glaslough. It is enhanced by the curving wing walls, which impart a sense of grandeur, and the various cut-stone details.
