Freestanding Second World War watch hut, erected c.1941, having canted western half. Now disused. Flat rendered roof with rendered chimneystack. Rendered walls with square-headed openings. Fireplace to interior. Set on elevated site overlooking An Aigéan Atlantach [Atlantic Ocean].
This small structure is associated with the Second World War, when watch huts were erected along the Irish coastline. It performed an important function as a look-out post and communication base and is one of the few military structures from this era that survive in the district.
