Description

Double-arch bridge, built c.1780, carrying road over Leanne River, possibly containing fabric of earlier bridge. Random rubble walling and parapets, latter with field-stone coping stones, field-stone voussoirs forming segmental arches, and rubble stone triangular cut-water.

Appraisal

An attractive bridge that has retained its essential character. Its rubble stone construction and field-stone voussoirs enhance the character of the structure, which makes a pleasant visual contribution to the local landscape and continues as part of the local transport infrastructure.
