Triple-arch stone road bridge, built c.1780, spanning Barora River. Humped tarmacadam deck, random-coursed rubble-stone parapet and spandrels with smooth rendered half-round coping. Segmental arches having dressed stone voussoirs of varying size, rubble stone barrel over abutments of coursed rubble stone and concrete encased footing. Three rubble-stone V-cutswaters with rendered copings and concrete footings to each face. Concrete infill to beds of outer arches. Coursed-random rubble stone wing walls with rubble stone abutments.
A medium-sized bridge spanning the Cavan and Meath border, forming an important part of the historic infrastructure of the county on the road between Bailieborough and Mullagh. The constructiion of this bridge is typical of rural bridges funded under the Grand Jury system in the eighteenth century, using rubble-stone barrel and dressed arch rings, and is the same as that employed at Christy's Bridge and County Bridge in the same locality, indicating that all three belong to the same road project. The composition of the design is balanced and includes skilled stonework in the arches and supports to the bridge. The sweep of the bridge parapets and deck make an aesthetically pleasing addition to the rural countryside.
