Detached four-bay two-storey house, built c.1910, with advanced gabled porch between two west bays and two-storey return. Formerly also in commercial use. Hipped slate roof, clay ridge tiles, rendered chimneystacks with cornice, cast-iron rainwater goods. Pitched roof to porch with oversailing eaves and decorative bargeboards. Flat roof to two-storey return. Ruled-and-lined smooth rendered walls, raised render architraves to door and windows. Two-over-two timber sash windows with half-exposed sash boxes and stone sills. Four-panelled timber entrance door, upper panels glazed. Former shop entrance in east bay of main elevation now a window with name fascia above. Corrugated-iron outbuilding to rear. Set back slightly from road.
An eyecatching roadside addition, with a well-composed and formal appearance softened the asymmetrical position of the porch and chimneystacks. It retains much of its original form, materials, windows fittings, and other details. Its former commercial function is an interesting reminder of the small scale outlets that operated in rural areas before the advent of mass car ownership and large scale retail outlets. It is an interesting addition to the historic architectural and social heritage of the surrounding area.
