Detached four-bay single-storey thatched farmhouse with dormer attic, extant 1911, on a rectangular plan with single-bay single-storey lean-to projecting porch. Pitched water reed thatch roof extended into lean-to water reed thatch roof (porch), exposed lattice stretchers to raised ridge having exposed scallops, rendered chimney stacks having precast concrete capping, concrete or rendered coping to gables, and blind stretchers to eaves having blind scallops. Limewashed roughcast battered walls with rusticated rendered piers to ends. Square-headed door opening (porch) with concealed dressings framing replacement timber half-door. Square-headed window openings ("cheeks") with concrete or rendered sills, and concealed dressings framing timber fittings. Square-headed window openings with concrete or rendered sills, and rendered surrounds framing one-over-one timber sash windows having exposed sash boxes. Set perpendicular to road.
A farmhouse identified as an important component of the vernacular heritage of County Sligo by such attributes as the alignment perpendicular to the road; the rectilinear plan form with a windbreak-like porch; the construction in unrefined local fieldstone displaying a feint battered silhouette; the disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing; and the high pitched roof showing a replenished water reed thatch finish. Having been well maintained, the form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thus upholding the character or integrity of a farmhouse making a picturesque visual statement in a sylvan street scene.
