Description

Three-span stone road-over-river bridge, built c. 1820. Roughly-squared rubble limestone walling to spandrels and parapets, dressed limestone platband with string over at deck level, dressed limestone square parapet copings, pilasters rising to become piers at ends of parapets, pyramidal dressed limestone caps. Segmental-headed arches, dressed limestone voussoirs, coursed dressed limestone piers between arches terminating in semi-circular cutwaters, chamfered impost string, domed caps. Single bitmac carriageway, narrow grass verges. Spans east-west over Feorish River.

Appraisal

This modest but robustly-detailed bridge sits comfortably in its quiet rural setting. The dressed stonework to arches, strings etc. impart a quality that lifts the bridge above the ordinary.
