Detached three-bay two-storey-over-basement rendered house, built c. 1840. Full-height canted entrance bay to west elevation, full-height central staircase projection to east elevation. Half-hipped slate roof, hipped to entrance bay, clay ridge and hip tiles, unpainted roughcast corbelled chimneystacks, half-round cast-iron gutters, painted timber eaves and bargeboards. Unpainted roughcast walling, painted smooth-rendered plinth. Square-headed window openings, painted smooth-rendered slightly-projecting reveals, hood moulding to window on east elevation, limestone sills, painted six-over-six timber sash windows. Round-headed staircase window opening. Round-headed entrance door opening, painted smooth-rendered slightly-projecting reveals, painted timber door with eight raised-and-fielded panels c. 1995, cobweb fanlight over c.1995, wide approach steps bullnosed at base, painted smooth-rendered flanking balustrade walls with moulded coping. Bitmac carpark to front of house, lawns to west, wrought-iron field gate with cast-iron posts to south of house, linear outbuildings to north with pitched slate and corrugated-iron roofs, roughcast and exposed rubble stone walls with brick dressings to openings. House and outbuildings set back from road in mature woodland, approached by driveway from west, gate screen to road c. 1995.
This house retains much of its original character and materials and is well-integrated in mature surrounding woodland. The half-hipped roof and canted entrance bay are distinctive features.
