Detached three-bay two-storey rendered former constabulary barracks, built c. 1830, now derelict. Gabled single-storey porch c. 1950 in centre of north (front) elevation. Pitched slate roofs, clay ridge tiles, unpainted smooth-rendered corbelled chimneystacks, concrete verge cappings, half-round cast-iron gutters on eaves corbel course, cast-iron downpipe. Painted timber bargeboards to porch roof, uPVC rainwater goods. Unpainted roughcast walling, smooth-rendered to porch. Square-headed window openings, stone sills, painted two-over-two timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening in porch, painted vertically-sheeted door. Street fronted, rubble stone boundary wall extending to rear from south-west corner.
This building, now derelict, is of considerable historic interest as it is a typical example of a mid-nineteenth century rural constabulary barracks. Very much on a domestic scale, it retains a great deal of original fabric and some sash windows.
