Appraisal

Sited on a mound, this mausoleum can be viewed from a distance. The prominence of the setting reflects the standing of those to whom it is dedicated. Though its walls have begun to crumble, encouraged by the quarrying of stone from the west-facing elevation, it remains an architecturally and historically significant structure. The Latin inscription reveals the monument's history.
