Corner-sited seven-bay three-storey former hotel, built c.1870. Now used as living accommodation with restaurant to ground floor. Hipped and pitched slate roof. Ruled-and-lined render to walls with rendered plinth and string course. Ribbon coursing over ground floor windows. Two-storey oriel windows to corners of façade with lead pavilion roofs and copper finials. Timber paned windows and replacement timber double doors with paned overlights to segmental-arched openings at ground floor. Limestone steps indicate that some windows were formerly door openings. Timber sash windows with stone sills and with replacement uPVC to oriels. Building fronts onto streets.
This former hotel is a striking part of the townscape. Its scale and corner-sited location make it an imposing structure. The oriel windows enhance the exterior and are a unique feature in Roscommon town.
