Description

Terraced three-bay two-storey house, built c.1830, no longer in use. Pitched slate roof with cut stone chimneystack and cast-iron rainwater goods. Ruled-and-lined render to walls with rendered plinth course. Timber sash windows with stone sills. Timber panelled door with overlight and ornate cast-iron knocker. House fronts directly onto street.

Appraisal

Though in a poor state, this modest, yet well-proportioned house with its classical form, makes a positive contribution to the streetscape. It is enhanced by the retention of its original form and fabric such as its timber six-over-six sash windows with convex horns, stone sills and flat-panelled door whose ornate door knocker, adds an artistic quality.
