Terraced two-bay two-storey house, built c.1850, with shopfront of former shop to ground floor. Pitched slate roof with cast-iron rainwater goods and modern dormer windows. Rendered walls, quoins and plinth course. Vitrolite and tiled shopfront with large display window, chrome trim and chrome lettering bearing name of former occupants. Replacement timber panelled door and overlight. rendered window openings with stone sills and replacement aluminium windows. Cast-iron guard rail to front. House fronts directly onto street.
The vitrolite shopfront to this house is a particularly striking feature within the streetscape. The contrasting Vitrolite, tiles and metallic dressings create an attractive design. Once common throughout Irish towns these shopfronts are becoming increasingly rare and the survival of this example is particularly notable as the structure is no longer used as a shop.
