Façade of detached two-bay two-storey double gable-fronted goods store, extant 1894, on a symmetrical plan. Extensively renovated to accommodate occasional alternative use. Tuck pointed snecked rock faced limestone wall on lichen-covered cut-limestone chamfered plinth with cut-limestone crow stepped coping to gables. Camber- or segmental-headed central carriageway below cut-limestone shield panel with drag edged tooled hammered limestone block-and-start surround having chamfered reveals framing replacement glazed timber fittings. Camber-headed window openings with drag edged tooled hammered limestone block-and-start surrounds having chamfered reveals framing replacement fixed-pane timber fittings. Set on quay.
The façade of a goods store representing an interesting component of the later nineteenth-century built heritage of the outskirts of Cong with the architectural value of the composition confirmed by such attributes as the symmetrical frontage; the rock faced surface finish offset by sheer limestone dressings demonstrating good quality workmanship; the diminishing in scale of the openings on each floor producing a graduated tiered visual effect; and the crow stepped roofline.
