Nine-arch hump back road bridge over river, extant 1838. Part ivy-covered walls centred on triangular cutwaters to piers to upriver (east) elevation having pyramidal capping with lichen-covered "saddleback" coping to parapets. Series of nine round or segmental arches between cast-iron "Pattress" tie plates with repointed voussoirs. Sited spanning Dalgan River with unkempt grass banks to river.
A narrow bridge representing an important component of the eighteenth-century civil engineering of south County Mayo: meanwhile, a discreet benchmark remains of additional interest for the connections with cartography and the preparation of maps by the Ordnance Survey (established 1824).
