Detached three-bay two-storey house, occupied 1911[?]; extant 1925, on a symmetrical plan with two-bay two-storey side elevations. Now disused. Hipped slate roof with roll moulded terracotta ridge tiles, paired red brick Running bond[?] central chimney stacks having corbelled stepped stringcourses below capping supporting terracotta pots, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves boards. Rendered, ruled and lined walls. Hipped square-headed central door opening with concealed dressings framing replacement timber door having sidelights below overlight. Square-headed window openings with cut-limestone sills[?], and concealed dressings framing two-over-two timber sash windows. Set back from line of road in unkempt grounds with piers to perimeter having pyramidal capping.
A dilapidated house representing an integral component of the early twentieth-century domestic built heritage of south County Mayo with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact rectilinear plan form centred on an understated doorcase; and the uniform or near-uniform proportions of the openings on each floor. A prolonged period of unoccupancy or neglect notwithstanding, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thus upholding much of the character or integrity of a house making a pleasing visual statement in a pastoral street scene.
