Appraisal

A gateway reclaimed from the Bloomfield House estate making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene at the entrance on to the grounds of the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Sorrows (cf. 31311016). NOTE: An identical gateway was similarly repurposed (1962) at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception (1962) in Roundfort (see 31311902).
