Remains of freestanding single-bay two-stage signal tower, built 1804-6, on a square plan. Damaged, 1989. Now in ruins. Remains of coursed rubble stone walls on battered base with cut- or rough cut limestone flush quoins to corners. Paired camber-headed window openings with cut- or rough cut limestone voussoirs. Interior in ruins with square-headed niches centred on square-headed fireplace. Set in unkempt grounds on an elevated site with remains of boundary wall to perimeter.
The remains of a signal tower representing an important component of the early nineteenth-century built heritage of Clare Island (cf. 31302403; 31304201; 31309401).
