Description

Five-arch bridge over river, extant 1838. Ivy-covered walls with overgrown coping to parapets. Series of five segmental arches with limestone ashlar voussoirs. Set in grounds shared with Ballinamore House spanning Geestaun River or Pollagh River with unkempt banks to river.

Appraisal

A bridge contributing positively to the group and setting values of the Ballinamore House estate with the architectural value of the composition suggested not only by the silver-grey limestone dressings demonstrating good quality workmanship, but also by the elegant "sweep" of the arches making a pleasing visual statement at a crossing over the Geestaun River or Pollagh River.
