Rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills[?], and concealed dressings framing six-over-six timber sash windows. Square-headed door opening approached by flight of three concrete steps with concealed dressings framing replacement timber panelled door having overlight. Set back from line of road in unkempt grounds with boundary wall to perimeter having lichen-covered rough hewn limestone coping.
A national school representing an integral component of the built heritage of County Mayo. A prolonged period of apparent unoccupancy notwithstanding, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thereby upholding the character or integrity of a national school making a pleasing visual statement in a rolling hillside setting.
