Detached three-bay two-storey farmhouse, built 1926, on a T-shaped plan centred on single-bay full-height flat-roofed projecting breakfront; single-bay (south) or two-bay (north) two-storey side elevations. Hipped slate roof centred on flat roof behind parapet (breakfront), terracotta ridge tiles, paired rendered central chimney stacks having corbelled stepped capping supporting terracotta pots, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on timber eaves boards. Rendered, ruled and lined walls. Hipped square-headed central door opening with concealed dressings framing replacement glazed timber panelled door having sidelights below overlight. Square-headed window openings with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing four-over-four timber sash windows. Set in own grounds with wrought iron gate to perimeter.
A farmhouse representing an integral component of the early twentieth-century domestic built heritage of Bun an Churraigh [Bunnacurry] with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact symmetrical footprint centred on an expressed breakfront; and the somewhat disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing compounded by the uniform proportions of the openings on each floor. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thus upholding the character or integrity of a farmhouse making a pleasing visual statement in a rural street scene.
