Description
Detached single-bay (single-bay deep) single-storey gable-fronted boathouse, rebuilt 1866[?]; extant 1897. Reroofed. Replacement pitched (gable-fronted) artificial slate roof retaining clay ridge tiles, and cut-granite coping to gables. Part repointed coursed or snecked granite walls with tooled cut-granite flush quoins to corners. Camber-headed carriageway with tooled cut-granite block-and-start surround centred on tooled cut-granite keystone. Set in own grounds.
Appraisal
A boathouse forming part of a neat self-contained group alongside the opposing Blacksod Point Coastguard Station (see 31302410) with the resulting ensemble making a pleasing visual statement overlooking Cuan an Fhóid Duibh [Blacksod Bay].
