Pitched slate roof on timber construction with roll moulded clay ridge tiles, red brick Running bond "wallhead" central chimneystack to rear (north-west) elevation having chevron- or saw tooth-detailed corbelled stepped capping supporting yellow terracotta tapered pot, timber bargeboards to gables on timber purlins, and remains of cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves boards on exposed timber rafters. Part ivy-covered red brick Running bond walls (base) on chamfered cushion course on red brick Running bond plinth; "weather boarded" timber surface finish (cabin). Paired camber-headed openings (base) with sills, and red brick voussoirs with no fittings surviving. Square-headed "monitor window" (cabin) with timber sill, and concealed dressings with fittings now boarded up. Interior retaining levers. Set in unkempt grounds shared with Swinford Railway Station.
A dilapidated signal box contributing positively to the group and setting values of the Swinford Railway Station complex.
