Attached three-bay two-storey house, extant 1926, on a rectangular plan with shopfront to ground floor. Now disused. One of a pair. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, concrete or rendered coping to gables with rendered chimney stacks to apexes having corbelled stepped stringcourses below capping supporting terracotta pots, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on eaves boards on rendered eaves retaining cast-iron downpipe. Rendered, ruled and lined walls on rendered chamfered plinth with rusticated rendered piers to ends. Rendered shopfront to ground floor on a symmetrical plan with rendered fascia having "Cavetto" cornice. Square-headed window openings (first floor) with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing timber casement windows. Street fronted with concrete footpath to front.
A house erected as one of a non-identical pair representing an integral component of the early twentieth-century built heritage of Ballina. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, both to the exterior and to the interior, including a streamlined shopfront making a pleasing visual statement in Abbey Street at street level.
