Detached three-bay two-storey house, post-1931, on an L-shaped plan with single-bay two-storey advanced end bay; two-bay two-storey side (west) elevation. Hipped slate roof on an L-shaped plan with clay ridge tiles, paired rendered central chimney stacks having capping supporting terracotta or yellow terracotta pots, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on timber eaves boards. Part creeper- or ivy-covered rendered, ruled and lined walls. Camber-headed central door opening with concealed dressings framing replacement timber panelled door having stained glass sidelights on panelled risers below fanlight. Square-headed window openings centred on square-headed window opening (first floor) with concrete sills, and concealed dressings framing timber casement windows centred on two-over-two timber sash window. Set back from street in landscaped grounds.
A house representing an integral component of the twentieth-century domestic built heritage of Ballina. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thus upholding the character or integrity of a house making a pleasing visual statement in Lord Edward Street.
