Detached three-bay single-storey farmhouse, extant 1838, on a rectangular plan. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rendered coping to gables with rendered chimney stacks to apexes having stringcourses below capping, and cast-iron rainwater goods on rendered eaves. Roughcast walls. Square-headed central door opening with rendered "bas-relief" surround framing replacement glazed timber panelled door having overlight. Square-headed flanking window openings with sills, and rendered "bas-relief" surrounds framing six-over-six timber sash windows. Set back from road in unkempt grounds with boundary wall to perimeter having ivy-covered rubble stone soldier course coping.
A farmhouse representing an integral component of the early nineteenth-century domestic built heritage of Killala with the architectural value of the composition suggested by such attributes as the compact rectilinear plan form centred on restrained doorcase; the disproportionate bias of solid to void in the massing; and the high pitched roofline. Having been well maintained, the elementary form and massing survive intact together with substantial quantities of the original fabric, thus upholding the character or integrity of a farmhouse making a pleasing visual statement in a sylvan street scene.
