Description
Single-arch road bridge, built c.1845. Roughly dressed random coursed cut stone walls with voussoirs to segmental arch-ring and coping. Part of earlier bridge incorporated into west end. This bridge spans the Rinn River, the border between Counties Longford and Leitrim.
Appraisal
The combination of random and tooled limestone provides rich textural interest to this site. An earlier bridge, of which a portion of the parapet survives and is incorporated into the present bridge,indicates that this has traditionally been a crossing point on the river and demonstrates the continuity of the site.
