Detached four-bay single-storey with attic gamekeeper's house, built c.1838. Pitched slate roof with rooflights, cut stone chimneystack and decorative timber bargeboards to gable ends. Random coursed stone walls with roughly tooled quoins. Cut stone projecting porch. Window openings with stone lintels and sills. Replacement timber casement windows. Replacement battened door. Set back from the road. Date carved on quoinstone.
This gamekeeper's house, latterly known as "Clooncoe Lodge" and situated on an elevated site overlooking Lough Rynn, is a reminder of the former lifestyle of the landed gentry. Although no longer serving its original use, and altered, the house retains much of its character and its strong form and proportions have been maintained. A rough hewn stone is inscribed "JULY 1838 J:M" with the initials possibly those of the mason who built the gamekeeper's house.
