Detached two-cell Roman Catholic church, built in 1832, with four-bay nave, single-bay chancel and extension to rear. Pitched slate roof with stone crosses and cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls with tooled limestone quoins and dressings. Pointed-arched window openings with tooled chamfered surrounds and replacement stained glass windows. Triple lancets in east gable. Pointed-arched door opening with tooled chamfered surround in west gable. Prayer plaque in west gable. Cemetery adjacent to church. Cut stone entrance gates to south of church.
The modest exterior of St. Michael's is typical of Roman Catholic churches built during the first half of the nineteenth century. The church is located overlooking a wooded valley. Its setting was enhanced by the addition of the sandstone entrance gates in 1852.
