Appraisal

Located on the outskirts of Jamestown, this water pump is well maintained and is a socially significant feature in the village. The banding and fluting on the pump add artistic interest to this functional object. Water pumps are technically and socially significant structures as the played a vital role within the community at a time before homes had running water.
