Freestanding Classical style mausoleum, erected in 1865. Design possibly by William Caldbeck. Vermiculated rustication to walls with ashlar Tuscan portico surmounted by coat-of-arms to south-west elevation. Plaque in north-west elevation. Inscription to frieze of portico reads: "The Mausoleum of Charles Manners St. George Esq. D. L. and J. P. County Leitrim. 1865". Cast-iron railings with gates and ornate urns to gate piers bound site.
This mausoleum was built in memory of Charles St. George and is located within the grounds of Hatley Manor. The temple-like structure, which is decorated with vermiculated rustication, a Tuscan portico and a finely carved coat-of-arms, is of both architectural and artistic merit. Intricate iron railings, piers and gates complete this unusual monument.
