Appraisal

This cemetery has been used by the Sisters of Mercy since the late nineteenth century. It contributes to the social and religious history of Ballinamore and is part of a group of ecclesiastical structures in the town. The use of cast-iron as a material for the grave markers instead of stone is of technical interest.
