Single-arch limestone railway bridge, built c.1850, over now disused Athenry-Claremorris railway line. Squared and snecked rock-faced walls having chamfered edges to outer elevations, rock-faced voussoirs, and flat rubble coping stones to parapets.
This unaltered railway bridge is a fine example of mid-nineteenth-century railway engineering. Built by the Great Southern and Western Railway Company to carry the Athenry to Claremorris line, it is no longer in use as a railway bridge since the closure of the line in 1975. This bridge has an attractive symmetry and its well detailed stonework is a testament to the skill of the craftsmen who built it.
