Description

Freestanding cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, having fluted shaft, spout with bucket grip, banding above spout, fluted neck with attached cow's tail pumping handle, and fluted conical cap with pointed finial. Flat metal base set in concrete on platform with recent rubble walling to front, approached by two steps, and flanked by flared coursed limestone and rendered walls. Stands next to graveyard of disused and ruinous Church of Ireland church.

Appraisal

This water pump is in excellent condition and stands prominently at the south end of the village of Creggs, next to the former Church of Ireland church.
