Detached three-bay two-storey house, built c.1820, having recessed entrance bay, lower four-bay two-storey block to rear and one-bay deep re-entrant block. Now derelict. Hipped slate roofs to the various blocks, with wide eaves having timber brackets to front block, and rendered chimneystacks behind front block and to middle of return block. Square-headed windows, ground floor openings boarded up and first floor openings having original six-over-six pane timber sliding sash windows with limestone sills, and damaged square-headed limestone doorcase with carved brakcets and cornice. Stands in own grounds.
The early nineteenth-century Moat House exhibits good detailing of its period. It forms an interesting group with the associated farm buildings across the road.
