Appraisal

A gracefully-composed gateway incorporating fine stone work to the piers, together with early-surviving wrought iron gates, which enhance the artistic design quality of the composition. The gateway, together with the attendant gate lodge (22903019/WD-30-19), forms an important element of the Whitechurch House estate, and contributes significantly to the visual appeal of the locality.
